Network Members Making Waves (not the ocean kind — the radiowaves!)
12/13/11 5:16 pm | , dave.rhoadsWe have several of our RN Members making headlines recently, most notably, a big announcement from Lucid and a great endorsement by a major research firm of CarbonSystem’s software. Other announcements include Office Depot’s rating as America’s #1 Green large retailer and Toshiba announcing a new replacement LED lightbulb.
Building Dashboard maker, Lucid, just announced their partnership with Constellation Energy, a diversified energy provider, to deliver dashboard and social media energy and resource tracking to Constellation’s customers. Lucid CEO, Michal Murray says of the partnership, “Its exciting for us because this will allow Constellation’s demand response customers to get free dashboards – thus eliminating barriers to benefits of energy monitoring and occupant engagement.” It’s a huge win-win-win and we’re excited to see more Building Dashboards! Check out the great coverage on GreentechMedia. More information is at http://www.luciddesigngroup.com/constellation.
CarbonSystems was recognized last week as one of the “top four global leaders in the energy management market” by Verdantix, an independent analyst firm focused on sustainable business strategies and market opportunities. Our friends at Greenbiz.com covered the report, Green Quadrant Energy Management Software, in a guest article.
Leading office supply member firm, Office Depot, was awarded the #1 Greenest Retailer by Newsweek Magazine in October, a distinction it held for the second year in a row. The firm was ranked 8th overall in America. Yalmaz Siddiqui, Senior Director of Environment, led the effort. Helping reach the honor was Office Depot’s new GreenerOffice Delivery Service, which delivers goods in paper bags rather than cardboard boxes.
Finally, member firm Toshiba released its newest replacement LED bulbs for typical light fixtures. The A19 lamp is a replacement bulb for 40 watt incandescent bulbs will last up to 40 times longer and use 75% less energy than an incandescent bulb. The A19 is currently undergoing ENERGY STAR ® testing now, but 25 of Toshiba’s other bulbs were just certified under the U.S. EPA program.
We’re very excited to keep recognize these significant milestones for our Member firms!
